Who is best suited to be a MIG Workspace Owner?

Workspace Owners are best suited for whoever are the dedicated leads for using MIG either for themselves or on behalf of a tool vendor, campaign, and organization.

What are the differences between a Personal and Organizational Workspace?

Anyone who creates an account in the MIG Console automatically has a Personal Workspace.

Personal Workspaces are permissioned to the sole account creator. A Personal Workspace is beneficial for an individual who is interacting with MIG on behalf of themselves or the organization they are representing. Most commonly, Personal Workspaces have been used to test the way MIG works prior to creating a new App or setting up integrations on behalf of an organization.

Organizational Workspaces can have multiple users working collaboratively to manage creating new Apps, setting up integrations, and permissioning individual datasets.

For Tool Vendors
An Organizational Workspace is beneficial for tool vendors who have multiple people managing the development and availability of a Dataset Exchange API App.

For Campaigns and Organizations
An Organizational Workspace is beneficial for multiple staff members of a campaign or organization who are connecting to available applications in the MIG App Marketplace and/or managing the availability of datasets to those applications. Federated organizations that are setting up multiple MIG Workspaces for members or affiliates can easily switch between multiple Organizational Workspaces and review current installed Apps and dataset permissions.

How many other users can I have in an Organizational Workspace and who can update permissions in Workspaces?

There are no limits on the number of Owners or Admins in an Organizational Workspace.

I set up an App in a Personal Workspace but would like to have it centrally managed in an Organizational Workspace, will the App automatically move to my new Workspace?

Applications that are set up in a Personal Workspace cannot be transitioned to an Organizational Workspace and will have to be set up again in Organizational Workspace. If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact us at [email protected]

I set up a Personal Workspace on behalf of my Campaign or Organization and submitted datasets to the Dataset Exchange API. Can I view those same datasets in an Organizational Workspace?

To have these datasets available in your Organizational Workspace, you will need to complete the same steps of creating a dataset and loading data into the API.

  • Create new DXAPI app connection, and generate key
  • Connect app to the Workspace
  • Authenticate as app, and generate client token
  • Using client token for authentication, create new dataset and load data

Wherever you are retrieving the dataset will have to be updated to account for the different workspace, app, app installation, and dataset IDs.
